Felony Snowball Tossing Charges Lodged - February 9, 2010

FEBRUARY 9--Felony snowball throwing charges have been leveled against two Virginia college students for allegedly pelting a city plow and an undercover police car during Saturday's blizzard. Charles Gill and Ryan Knight, both 21, were nabbed by cops in Harrisonburg, where they attend James Madison University. According to police, the pair first targeted a city plow last Saturday afternoon. The driver responded by calling cops to report the frosty fusillade. When police responded to the scene in a bid to identify the assailants, their unmarked vehicle also came under an icy assault.

Throwing snowballs! String them up. String them up!

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
i have know of people who have been permanently disabled by a snowball thrown into a moving car..

it is not a joke and is a form of assult.

Last year I would have thought you were being a tad overblown. Then on my way into town I had someone throw what appeared to be a glob of wet toilet paper from an oncoming vehicle. It mostly splattered my windshield, but some came in through my side window which was rolled down an inch and hit me in the eyes. I damn near ran off the road, which at 60mph is not a laughing matter. I u-turned and followed the idiots and got their plate number. I thank many years of motorcycle riding and having to deal with the occasional wasp getting stuck between the helmet and my head with allowing me to maintain control of my vehicle.

I won't even talk about the time while riding the motorcycle I was set on fire by an idiot throwing his lit cigarette out the window and it landing in my jacket and setting my shirt on fire. If I hadn't had to stop and put the fire out I would probably be in jail now for manslaughter.

The folks throwing snowballs at moving vehicles should be made to understand that it's not a ha-ha moment, but it should not be a felony.

    1. Singapore uses caning as a punishment.
    2. There are no snowball related injuries in Singapore.

I think I've said enough. My logic speaks for itself.

How much snow do they get on the equator? :):

Don't go throwing trivial data into my perfectly constructed argument. You can't prove that the reason they don't have snowball fights is that they don't have snow. I think it's because of the caning.

It's a stupid thing to do and certainly should be punished. But a felony?

I'm sorry. Some people have gotten seriously hurt by freak occurrences from a lot of stupid activities that shouldn't be felonies.
