Ok boys and girls, it's that time, let's get together and build some guns.

Right now this just a feeler, class will be held at my house in Hobart. Topics will include building the Lower receiver, Building the Upper receiver, what tools are needed, finding good parts, AR accessories, whatever anyone chooses to add. Not looking at anything super formal (unless that's what you want) just trying to get the info out there and build some guns and have a good time.

    WHEN:
right now im looking at two dates:
    26FEB2012
    and
    04MAR2012
The exact time on those dates is flexible, I was thinking afternoon :dunno:

Why not sooner? I want to give everyone time to get their parts so we can make the most of it.
I want this open to anyone that wants to attend. Weather you're a veteran INGOer or a new guy that registered yesterday, any and all skill levels are welcome, I personally will break out the crayons and construction paper and we'll knock it out. I'ts not a hard system to build, but it can be intimidating for those that don't know.

    So, what do you say?

I'd be there. I don't have anything to build yet. But it's only a matter of time. I've been itching. So I'd love a chance to learn up close from people who know what they're doing. I won't vote because either date is fine with me.

FYI 04 MAR 2012 "could" be a possible MAR MEET & SHOOT date.
The voting dates will be put up on 1 FEB and will be every SAT and SUN in march.

    Very cool!

I won't be able to attend but good for you on getting a class together!

Someone get Joe some rep for me.

If we keep this up NWI will be able to do anything/everything.

I voted for 02/26. I have never built one but would like to one day. I'd love to just watch, take notes, & meet a few fellow INGOers. I'm also sure that I will have plenty of questions.

What do you charge for the class? Sounds fun

    Class if FREE!

You just need to bring your parts (ie. lower, barrel, upper, stock, etc...) and the parts and others who have built ARs will be there to help you out in putting it together.

If you don't have any parts you can still come and just see how it's done.
Or you can order your parts before the event and build there.

This would be a really cool class! If my son in law is around we would vote for the March day. I have lots of questions and this would be a great opportunity with the experts around.

If this one goes well, and there is enough interest I'd be willing to schedule another. As long as nobody kicks my dog or shoots a hole in something, I'm willing to open my home to INGO any time.

How about us kicking something and shoot a hole in the dog??? LOL

You shoot the dog and you'll have to answer to my old lady. I've seen her angry, you wouldn't like her when she's angry.

She's also offered to cook for this. She took out one recipe and said "This calls for 6 slices of bacon, I should probably double that." Just one of the many reasons I love her.

A great place for parts, if you're interested in a kit, is Palmetto State Armory.
Their rifles kits are good quality, and a decent price, and they occasionally have deals on stripped receivers (regular price 79.99) for $49.99.

    Website is palmettostatearmory.com

Thats the first one that comes to mind, there are others also.
