There doesn't seem to be a crowd this year.
    Depends on te ceremony.

Many ceremonies take place at the same time.
Not everybody can show up especially if the president is here. Lots of security screenings and limited room.
It's for vets, special guests, soldiers and officials.
Some places get really crowded ... especially the bars with young US troops allowed to drink at age 18 over here. :):

My neighbor has one. Cops give him a hard time because he has a machine gun on it ... and a wire sharp pointy
    cutter on the front.
Not great for pedestrian safety for today's standards.
    Also no seatbelts ...

    Is the firearm functional?
I dont think so. Didn't ask.
It's illegal or civilians to own full-auto machine guns over here.

Some have it mounted on the passenger side like that ...

But they usually take it off unless they are at some kind of events.
I assume you will get pulled over if you drive with the machine gun mounted.

Some collectors do collect fully functioning guns but that's illegal.

I often see jeeps with guns mounted on the side of the road, or on the road, or on people's driveways.
In that case the most dangerous thing is not the machine gun (real or not) but driving with the added armor in place.
You can't see anything and really need to be part of a convoy to be safe.

You often see M1 Garands mounted on the dash as well.

Some WW2 Jeeps have been used until the 1980's by the French military so you also find some with a FA-MAS holder.

It's now replaced by another American vehicle, a specially modified Ford Ranger.
The doors are modified to hold an HK rifle.
