I think your words make the point I thought I was trying to make.Hitting an 8" target at 4.4 miles is very impressive, but the 69 shots to do so shows just how much luck is a factor.
Well, if we didn't all repeat what has already been said and beat every subject into the ground, this forum would only have about 6 threads and 50 total posts.I think your words make the point I thought I was trying to make.
SissySo if I took a shot from my house and hit an 8" target at Premier Arms in Brownsburg I'd beat the record, by 528 yards. I'm thinking my neighbors would call the Police if I was seen on my roof with a rifle so I better not try.
That's big sissy to you!!Sissy
I double dog dare ya!!So if I took a shot from my house and hit an 8" target at Premier Arms in Brownsburg I'd beat the record, by 528 yards. I'm thinking my neighbors would call the Police if I was seen on my roof with a rifle so I better not try.
Yep. Im reminded of the stunt Jerry Miculek did. He "popped a balloon from 1,000 yards" with a 9mm handgun. He didnt need that many shots to pop it. Except there was a problem. The balloon was taped to a huge steel plate. He missed the balloon but the spall splattered and popped it. They still considered it a hit. I found that judgement wrong and misleading.Hitting an 8" target at 4.4 miles is very impressive, but the 69 shots to do so shows just how much luck is a factor.
There was no breeze earlier, now there is a westerly breeze. Plus I don't have a block of wood (that thing looked like a homemade door-stop) to mount my 3-9X40 scope to my .50 BMG (which I don't have either.)I double dog dare ya!!
From the video in the article, if you go to youtube the description states a .416 Barrett.wish it said what caliber he used.
Don't go makin' us declare war on Avon. There was no breeze earlier, now there is a westerly breeze. Plus I don't have a block of wood (that thing looked like a homemade door-stop) to mount my 3-9X40 scope to my .50 BMG (which I don't have either.)
So if I have a 61" drop at 600 yards... I'd be lucky to hit Brownsburg.
You might be able to adapt artillery ballistics tables to facilitate lobbing one in at 4.7 milesSo if I took a shot from my house and hit an 8" target at Premier Arms in Brownsburg I'd beat the record, by 528 yards.
