What is everyone spending time on this winter in terms of gun stuff. Anything that you tend to do in the winter more than you do in the summer?

For me, it’s typically reloading. I reload all year long but in January through February, I reload the bulk of what I’ll shoot that year. Cold winter nights are more fun spent down in the basement at the reloader with an audiobook playing or some decent music maybe. Add in hot coffee (decaf in the evenings) and it’s a great way to spend cold winter nights.

I also tend to clean out the range bags, gun safe and give everything a cleaning and wipe down. I don’t spend as much time at the range in the winter as I do in the summer but gun related hobbies get a lot more of my time in the winter.
    Have several going:

    1. Drilling and pinning a RRA PDS.

    2. Cloning a C8A3/L119 (BCM upper, did not smuggle anything from Canada).

    3. Assembling a SIG516 from one of the UK uppers that were on sale couple of years ago.

    4. Loading a couple of .50 cal cans full of ammo for the nephew's 21st B-day in April.

That escalated quickly. Should've never went by the artsy fartsy section at Wally World. All the talk of Savage 93's elsewhere got me froggy.

I hear ya. There is a local club that does somewhat long range .22 shoots.(200m) I am fighting the urge to start putting together a rifle for it, because I want to get involved in the shoots this upcoming season.

I know the smart thing is to wait and learn about what I actually need, but I'm weak.

Tried the grips for the build, and stripped it down for plating

I may never dig out from the pile of guns I have to do now. I even have to try and find parts for a Daisy .22lr.

I am moving my operations down to the basement (to keep Momma Mongo happy) but have tripled my work space.

After talking to Tactical about his '97 I got froggy and went out and bought another from a friend at a gun show, I want to get it 'done up right'...

Well, we installed a windage-adjustable rear sight on the Enfield and finally got it zeroed today. I also got a .308 expander ball for my .303 die, and a new cap for the neck sizing die I broke, so hopefully I can get back to loading for that thing with ample neck tension now for the pull-down mil-surp bullets I have. The .311 expander should work fine for cast bullets, once my mold gets here.

I did cast a bunch of .45ACP, .357, and .32 ACP bullets this week. Loaded up about 60 rounds of .357 before I ran out of my last lb of H110. I thought I had another bottle, but apparently not. Kicker is, I had a chance to buy some not too long ago and passed because I thought I had more. Of course nobody local has any now, so I'll be hunting for that.

I shot 4 different .357 revolvers today, and the P32. The P32 ran great...I'm ready to say it's fixed. Lost 95% of my .32 ACP brass in the weeds, though :wallbash:.
