The Chinese death disease will be like the common flu. Eventually they will have a proven vaccine we will know long term side effects and they will work to decrease side effects like every other modern vaccine. You will probably have to take it like the flu shots yearly once they have everything figured out. Like the flu it will mutate and a different vaccine will be produced yearly for that reason.

I'm not against vaccines just don't agree with using hundreds of millions of people as test subjects.

Lies how do you know about what it will do to you 10 years from now let alone 2 years from now. You have no clue so you are the one spreading BS and thumping chest about getting an untested vaccine. I don't live in fear where I have to run out and get a vaccination every 3-6 months depending on your Dr view of it.
I think we’re all far more likely to have some thing bad befall us like an accident in the home or a traffic accident then we are to have bad side effects from this vaccine. The reason I crossed over and decided to take it is because I’m 57. I know there are far fewer days in front of the horse than there are behind the cart. If I was younger I would probably hold off. But I know acquaintances who have died or will never be the same now because of this virus. I don’t want to join that group. Calculated risk.

Dad, you are speaking to believers and will never change their minds. They believed the death toll projected at the beginning, they believed the case and death counts, they believed the masking works, they believed it all. They believe!!!

I posted a thread asking why do you believe the entities that have been proven liars so many times. The government, the media, the pharmaceutical companies, CDC, WHO, China, EU, just why on earth would rational people just believe them? The list of lies from the above is staggering and folks still cite them with authority.

Then we have some proven and some credible allegations of the powerful using vaccines for other than stated purposes, but they believe them.

People like you and me asking questions, not believing just because they say so, wanting information from other than proven liars makes them uncomfortable. The idiocy of calling you scared for not ingesting unproven chemicals into your body is illogical.

Only believers would so unquestionably drink the Flavor Aid...
Why does everyone here work so hard to change each others’ opinions? It’s all a calculated risk for each of us. This disease kills people and ****s them up bad. No, not many, but it does… Aren’t we all about looking after ourselves here, being responsible? Everyone should maybe just explain their reasoning for taking or not taking the vaccines without projecting it out to other people. The vast majority of this thread is just a huge waste of time for that very reason.

But the masks do nothing. It is proven. NADA.
Which is precisely why two weeks from today I’m going to completely stop wearing them, because I will be “fully vaccinated”. I’ve done my part. We’re all adults here. Those who feel as though managing their risk should or should not include masks and/or vaccines have made their choice and can deal with any potential consequences.

Last night, I was talking to a group of people I meet with every week on Monday night.
Nearly half of the people in that group are nurses & are actively "on the floor," with two of them having worked on dedicated Covid wings.
I was again quizzing a floor supervisor about the Covid admissions & the beds dedicated to the same.

Compared to the height of the pandemic, they have only a few beds needed to be dedicated for such & have long ago closed down one of the wings that were so dedicated.
She said the admissions to the ICU & PICU was much less than 10% as in the past.
Recently, there has not been on uptick in the 3 hospitals represented.
One of the nurses refuses to get a vaccine.

Our group started using Zoom a year ago & next week we will start meeting in person again (masks optional).
One of the nurses who continues to work with some patients with the contagion is going to continue to Zoom (her husband also who works with contractors), & my wife will not, after her visit to the heart hospital last week & her specialist reading her the riot act about not masking (he didn't know she was preaching to the choir & rarely strays from the house).

I will continue to wear a mask whether or not it is capable of restricting intake of airborne particles, for my wife's peace of mind.
Back when I worked in hospitals for 10 years, it was not uncommon to put on protective clothing & wear gloves/mask to go into a patient's room.
This was standard procedure before it became a political & emotional hot button.

College student at my gym this morning said he just got the shot last Friday. I wonder if he's nervous. He feels fine but he said he was really sick the first 24 hours after getting it.

I got the second Moderna dose exactly 12 hours ago. Zero issues with either one.
Good to hear. My wife has been having a slightly high temp (got her 2nd on Sat). I think my 2nd is next week.

I went to Meijer on Saturday and didn't wear a mask; I felt like a rebel.
A pyrrhic victory, I guess, because then I went to Menards and was a good sheep and wore it.

    24 hours post-Pfizer #2:

*Took 1000mg acetaminophen and 10mg melatonin at 11pm last night, slept much better than shot #1
*Swear I heard the Windows XP startup sound when I woke up
*No fever, chills or body aches thus far
*Similar headache to the one that occurred 3 hours post-vaccine - feels like a super mild caffeine headache
*Similar touch of malaise and "brain fog" that I experienced after shot #1
*Arm still feels like I got frogged by Floyd Mayweather
*Growing urge to throw away all my face masks

Unfortunately, everyone who got the J & J will probably be a little nervous, which is understandable, but they should know what to be nervous about.

First of all, these complications were noted 6 to 13 days after the vaccination. So after 2 weeks, relax.
Second, all of the people were female.
Third, there are 6 reported clotting issues out of almost 7 million, so pretty rare.

If it were me, I would probably learn the signs of a blood clot, stay well hydrated and pay attention, but not worry too much.

Hopefully being a student in the medical arena, he will know what to look for. I thought is was a little strange that he already got it but I guess we are opened up now to anyone over 16. Is that correct?

    J&J V-day +7 at the ghuns compound. I ain't skeered.

A little nervous about the wife. I mean, are dramatic mood swings and hot flashes followed by pronouncing, it's FREEZING in here!!!, a symptom of blood clots or just of being female?

That is correct. Open to everyone over 16. My younger 2 kids, 16 and 17, were supposed to get their shots about an hour ago.

Weird. My wife has the same symptoms and she got Pfizer.
