Remember this incident happened a couple weeks back.
The Scorpion team has already been disbanded, so don't be surprised if the website hasn't been altered already as well.
The Ministry of Truth has probably been working a lot of overtime lately.

Easy enough to check. Use the wayback machine to see historical versions of the same page.

That's Oct 27th, 2020 and it says the same thing.

March 26th, 2021 and it says the same thing.

Sept 22nd, 2021 and it says the same thing.

Then I got bored of looking.

Again, that doesn't mean that they didn't have some sort of waiver program but I'd need more proof than the media told me so. It'd be easy enough to show any of them had a felony conviction. They'd also be Brady Bill disqualified from carrying a firearm, so that would be problematic for police hiring.

And so many with their head in the sand. EVERYTHING is infiltrated by gangs. Whether its bloods/crips/ms13 stuff at this level, or higher level like "shadow govt" at the federal level. The corruption is real.
There were gang members infiltrating the Military back as far as when I was still active duty. I mean news reports on it. That's getting to be a while back...

Currently, you can get hired on the MPD with a FELONY on your record...

As BBI pointed out a felony brady disqualification would be a bit of a problem for a LEO. I've seen it claimed elsewhere that they have a waiver program, but I doubt it would be for officers.
Every single one of the 5 officers involved in this incident were hired AFTER the post 2020 lowering of hiring standards at the MPD.
Two out of the 5 were, two were hired in 2018, and one in 2017.

Well, for one thing... after the summer riot season of 2020, cops were quitting in droves.

Departments had been giving orders to allow the chaos, and the "defund" movement was in full bloom...
Most times (not that there was many) when they did try to crack down on it, they either got zero back up from their departments, and the cities, or outright thrown under the bus for their troubles.
Officers in the thousands just got sick of it and got out of law enforcement for other careers or retired.

Then, places like this leftie run crap-hole Memphis, were so desperate for cops... they lowered hiring standards, and went all "woke" with "diversity" hiring practices, rather than trying to entice quality candidates.

Currently, you can get hired on the MPD with a FELONY on your record...

Every single one of the 5 officers involved in this incident were hired AFTER the post 2020 lowering of hiring standards at the MPD.

Can't say for sure exactly why it seems cops are getting as you say "out of hand" but when you hire idiots for officers... then let the departments be run by even more idiots... then vote in even more idiots to run the cities they're in...?
To be clear, by "out of hand" I mean officers who cant keep their cool when tested by arrogant, mouthy thugs named Dindu Nuffin.

To speak clearly, I was wondering how many got their butts beat (and shot) for their unreasonable thuggish behavior? Could they have prevented it by being reasonable humans? Is that why more blacks get in this position? Reinforced by the macho attitude glorified by the culture and music? Then of course it spirals out of control when they think they can fight their way out of it to get away. (and away with it)

Once again the officers should be professional enough to not lose it when faced with this attitude. i'm just trying to find causality as to why they seem to be disproportionately harmed. (at least according to the media) Because if we could show causation, maybe we could get leaders to own up to it and push back on their own and "own" part of the problem. "Stop playin. You're part of why y'all's gettin killt." Wait, who am I kidding. Its always Da Man's fault.

And at least here in Indy, STFU. Even if you do get arrested for whatever low level crime it is, you'll be back on the street in a couple hours, and our prosecutor may not even prosecute you. :xmad:

    Wasn't thinking Brady Bill either.

Still, a good lie is a believable one.
The way the lefties have been going these days, does seem plausible, so their lie is better than most news organizations... lol.

If these officers knew they were being recorded, and they did know, it suggest they believed there actions to be within bounds or otherwise explainable. So, it's not likely this was the first time they have collectively demonstrated such behavior or actions. If so, then leadership, both within the department and without, should be as culpable as the officers on the street.

Officers loose there cool because as a society (thanks lefties) we have quit holding people accountable for there actions.
We have quit expecting (demanding) excellence as a standard in performance.
We have not only accepted mediocracy, but promote, and reward it.

Then we train officers to a minimum, and send them out to enforce laws.
We arm them, and give them the authority to demand... what was never demanded... of them.
Naturally, like leftie mobs screaming their virtue signaling "word of the day" at a peacefully dining couple... they loose their poop when not given the respect of instant obedience.

There's that whole "I'm a cop. You will respect my Authoritah!" thing going on. ("Contempt of cop" as it's called)
It takes a quality person of character to overcome this arrogance when tasked with such power.
Raised right by the parents... taught right in schools... instilled with all the morals... all things current leaders are trying to destroy.
Cops should be paid more so better performance can be demanded of them, and more quality candidates can be brought it.
Once hired, discipline within the ranks should be held to a VERY high standard.

As far as your issues with a prosecutor... could make for an interesting summer riot season the way things are shaping up.

It is not, and never has been, about informing the public. The days of honest news room for the pride and integrity then using that as a loss leader to draw viewers is dead and buried. There's simply too many channels and competitors for attention and cable news quickly learned that lesson. Hence the prevalence of rage and doom porn becoming more main stream than simply informing the public. Fox has been at that forefront for quite awhile. There is no television news worth watching, IMO, as it's the equivalent of Civil War era newspapers, but much smarter about it. To update Mark Twain a bit, you can ignore the cable news and be uninformed or you can watch it and be misinformed.

Or perhaps they were assured it would not cause them a problem. Orders could have came from higher up to "teach this punk a lesson". Things when wrong and now he's dead.

    Let's take one for example...

    Sergeant $ 82,960.
You're saying that's enough? Or perhaps more than enough?

Well, your thing says "Madison Co". For that area, Yeah, I'd agree.
I'm up around Rensselaer, so for my area, I'd agree.
For INDY... That Sgt, probably been with the dept a while, and got a family by now... he or she is probably struggling.
I have a 125 year old 2 story historical home on 1.5 acers.
    My mortgage is < $800 a month.
But... like I said... that's my area.
Also, I've had the place since BEFORE I got blowed up, and retired from the Army as a cripple, so interest rates were better then.
My boy, in the Indy area, and his pals (plural, 4 of 'em) have to pool together to rent a house, and he's STILL paying more that I am.

    To SHARE RENT.

I can't say what the pay SHOULD be, but I'm saying that pretty much every department is underpaid. IMHO.
    It's a wrongly undervalued profession.

Doing the math, 5 guys paying $800+ a month each, that's $4000 a month to rent the house.

I hope it's a nice house. Median price of a house in Marion County is $233k, which would be a little over $2000 a month on a 30 year mortgage at 7%, no money down, with taxes and insurance included. Of course, no money down is not realistic for a loan, but just illustrating the most that one would potentially pay as a monthly payment on an average house in Marion County.

Average apartment rent in Indy is $1100-1200 a month, so your son could likely pay about half of what he's paying now and only have 1 roommate instead of 4, if he wanted to.

You'll not catch me saying that law enforcement is paid too much, especially in Marion County. But Indy is not exactly San Francisco as far as housing costs go.

May not be a lie, but possibly misinformation. I didn't see the Carlson video but I saw elsewhere that MPD instituted a felony waiver, it doesn't say it's for LEOs though. Implied yes. Low level non violent/theft related felony I could see being given a waiver for some jobs, janitorial, records, answering the phone, etc.

ETA found a bit more info on it. It's not just Memphis, it's statewide. If somebody applies and has a felony charge that was reduced to a misdemeanor they can apply for a waiver.

Criminal Activity. The Commission may waive pre-employment requirements relating to criminal activity on an individual basis and depending on the circumstances. 1. The Commission may waive pre-employment requirements for a person who has been convicted of, pleaded guilty to, or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge of any violation of federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence (excluding domestic violence), theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor and other alcoholic beverages, or controlled substances when the offense was classified as a misdemeanor
