Rimfire Falling Steel is a time based falling steel match limited to .22LR firearms only. There are multiple divisions available for just about any type of rimfire rifle or pistol. About the only requirement is that the gun is .22LR and is fed from a detachable box magazine (no tube fed guns for safety reasons, revolvers are allowed). Divisions are:

Pistol Limited - Iron sights only, mags limited to 10 rounds
Pistol Optics - Iron or optical sights allowed, mags limited to 10 rounds
Pistol Open - Iron or optical sights allowed, no magazine capacity limit
Rifle Limited - Iron sights only, mags limited to 10 rounds
Rifle Optics - Iron or optical sights allowed, mags limited to 10 rounds
Rifle Open - Iron or optical sights allowed, no magazine capacity limit
Revolver Limited - Iron sights only, cylinder limited to 10 rounds

A few things to know are that no holsters are required, all stages start from the low ready. Magazines can be carried anywhere on your person and you can carry as many as you want. Compensators are permitted in any division. Suppressors are forbidden (timers won't work with them). Pistol braces are permitted in open divisions only and may not be shouldered. RFS doesn't restrict it but Wildcat is adding that no tube fed guns are permitted, loading them under time pressure presents problems. All guns., except revolvers, must be fed from detachable box magazines.

Courses of fire consist of steel knockdown targets and your score is your time (plus 3 seconds for procedural penalties and 5 seconds for any target left standing). Stages will have movement similar to other action shooting sports. The maximum number of targets for any stage is 25.

Wildcat is in Brookston Indiana, about 15 minutes north of Lafayette.

As far as I know we are the only club doing this in Indiana so far.

For anyone on the fence about shooting at Wildcat, it is a great place to shoot. I've been there for Steel Challenge, USPSA and rimfire falling steel. All were well run and the facility is great.
