Looking to buy some strops. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the leather compared to Balsa wood?

Get the Leather, I had the Balsa originally and hated it myself I got much better results with the leather and I think it polishes the edge better than Balsa ever can.

Thanks. I have a leather set and they have gotten to the point of needing to be replaced and was wandering if the Balsa would last longer or if they had a different purpose. I'll probably stick with leather then.
