I would probably spend the $1,500 on a complete carry setup and then buy ammo and some training with what's left over. I realize that is not all on a gun itself, but it's what I'd do with the money, and that would easily spend every dime.

Definitely an XDM. You get the most for your money and they are super fun to shoot! Plus you'd have enough money to go buy something else with the leftovers :)

I guess I just read it as a single handgun purchase. IMO, no single 9mm is worth that much.

I'm not sure any single handgun is worth that much IMO, of course, I know that is blasphemy here on INGO... I mean I can appreciate that a Wilson Combat 1911, etc is a fine handgun and valuable, but I've got a lot of stuff (mostly not of my wanting) standing in line to get my $$.

    Martinsville
    Boberg XR9-L
    Rohrbaugh R9s

Walther PPQ M2 5" (Granted these 2 well under the price range.)
    H&K P30L

Possibly a Sig P226 Elite Stainless.

Your choice of Sphinx if the previous choices don't cut the mustard for you.

I played with a Beretta CX4 at the shop. I think I want one. No reason to have it but different. $1500 would buy the rifle, AimPoint, mags, sling and a pile of ammo.

Why not something custom? Send a used 1911 or Browning Hi-Power up to Novaks Custom Shop. They offer a lot of different options, and make works of art.
