So originally I said that's a lot of calibers, but I think I might have almost as many... this thread got me thinking about the calibers I have. Listing in relative order of power:

    22short
    22lr
    .410 shotgun
    .40
    .38/.357
    12 gauge shotgun
    7.62x39
    30-30
    6.5 grendel
    450 bushmaster
    45-70
    30-06

Lately I've been really focused on 762x39 and grendel as self defense rifle options.

This year I added 450 bushmaster kind of on a whim. Turned out to be a great deer rifle for me. I also added .410 as a starter pump for my boys. I also found a rifle I couldn't turn down. Henry in 45-70. Not looking to add any calibers. Might get rid of the 30-30 rifle.

You should just get a .460 Mag revolver.

Then you can add .460 Mag, .454 Casull, (already have the .45 Colt), .45 Schofield, and you can even shoot .410 bore out of it just for funsies. Slugs, preferably, since the rifling will make any kind of bird/buckshot worthless.

Besides the .450 BM and the .308, you don't have any busier rifle cartridges. I'm thinking you need a magnum big bore rifle. .338 Rem Mag (or Ultra mag), .375 Ruger, .416 Rem, etc.

    A 45/70, .444 Marlin or even a .500 S&W in a rifle will work too!

Caliber diversity is fun, although you already have quite a good range. One thing to consider is the high caliber pistols. Both .500 S&W Magnum and 50AE are fun to shoot, just to be different. Or if you want high caliber rifle, not much beats 50BMG

.357SIG, with a 5.25" or 6" barrel is a hoot-2-shoot and is very accurate, for a pistol round!
It's 1500 fps (6" barrel) and flat trajectory makes it a fun pistol for those longer-distance targets!

If you like something a bit heavier...a .454 Casull revolver is also a hoot-2-shoot with its 'big bore' felt recoil and 'thump' at impact! It'll also handle .45 Colt as well which provides a lighter caliber with the heavier-duty revolver!

I have a list twice the length of yours, But that's not the point. the saying goes Beware of the man with 1 gun, because he knows how to use it... Many years ago I decided that I would load for every thing I owned, and I do...with the exception of rimfire. Nobody can cut off your ammo.

I like 32-20, 32-40 and 32 WS, often overlooked lever gun calibers that shoot well with cast bullets'.

I know you're an expert on the old school calibers, but I just gotta say my Henry carbine in .327 Fed Mag is pretty darn slick. Right now I have the matching Ruger SP101 and GP100, and am looking for a 5" Single Seven.

So to the OP, I say .327 Fed, if looking for a new intermediate cartridge. Out of the Henry, you get pretty snappy performance (for a pistol round) with very little kick. Just a lot of fun.
