Tonight's smoke is a Monte Cristo espada.

Very nice. Always a great smoke from MC.

When are we doing a cigar meet up? One of yous guys gets to set the next one up since my last attempt was an absolute raging success.

I almost never have time for a full smoke so I picked up these Liga privada no9's and a tin of undercrown maduros. For a small stick they pack the flavor. KIMG0122.JPG
I really like the Drew estate maduros by the way.

Am I smoking the wrong under crowns?

I had a sun grown one. I was not impressed.

It just failed in compared to the ones I typically smoke.

Perhaps they are just over priced?

I've had an Undercrown Connecticut (? Light wrapper) the wasn't bad. But I do think it was a bit pricey.

I am generally a guy that smokes maduros. In the undercrown they are definitely the best, puts them closer to the Liga privada than the rest of the undercrown series. I usually buy them in a 10 pack of coronets and they run about 18-20 dollars a tin.

Because these threads are useless without pictures this is one of the full size maduros. You might be right they don't seem to pack the flavor of the coronets. KIMG0128.JPG

Not bad, just really light for the price.

Last night I had a first. I can't remember what it was. But I got to a point where the outside wasnt burning only the inside. So I touched it up with a torch and made a funky ass smell and burned really weirdly. The flavor was odd as well.

Had to touch it up twice.

Then a small ember fell off and as I rotated it to see wtf....the charred ring fell off and into my beard. During burn any hairs but it certainly explained the smell and odd taste. So be sure to remove the ring before the offer gets to it.

I would like to her what you think when finished!

I would say decent, but not great.

To be fair, I tend to find something I like and stick with it.

Padron 7000 Maduro and LFD 700 Maduro are a couple....Maybe a RP Batallion Maduro. All beat this one hands down....JMO YMMV

Not sure if I've done this yet.

Name your top 5 cigar brands, and your favorite way to light up.

    1: padron.
    2: kristoff.
    3: gurkha.
    4: monte Cristo.
    5: Man of war.

Best way to light is with a stick from a campfire/bon fire. Followed by a rockey petel torch lighter. ( I have three different ones.) Or in a pinch a match.
