I was just coming to post this and decided to go back a few pages to look first. I just found his version on Saturday and I teared up listening to it. Haven't stopped playing it since.
its amazing how the delivery affects the feeling. This is the second Black Sabbath song Ive heard that shook me to my core, where the original did less than nothing to me.
I guess there is a difference when someone screams "I LOVE YOU" in an angry tone vs a quiet, sweet tone. :dunno:

Wow. This is a really neat cover. A mix of famous folks, not so famous folks, and no names. Many of the no names are FABULOUS.

And as a side note, Lukas Nelson is a REALLY good singer when he isnt trying to sound like his dad. When he does, he sounds like a Sams Cola version... not good.

Still one of the best songs he did (JMO YMMV).

I was heading out for a morning deer hunt a few years ago. Radio aired a cover of the song by Band Perry.... and did it well. I was glad to hear it going on. It had been a hell of a long time since I had heard "Gentle on my Mind" on a broadcast airwave radio station.
