So I found a baggie of these in my late father's ammo cache. What the heck is it? Its a FMJ, but Ive never seen one like it, as all my other stuff is a rounded projectile. Case is stamped WIN 9mm luger.

Yes, I know its a 9mm round. Any ideas of the make, weight, etc?

It could be the Federal stuff as I vaguely recall seeing some of those boxes around. Not worth pulling to see, as this is more idle curiosity that anything else. Never considered it to be anything special/unique, just that it differs greatly from every other 9mm round I have ever used.

Yeah the cone shape is odd. I actually have some lead bullets that I load in .40's that is the same shape. It feeds fine, though it looks like it would hang up.

I had some of those back in the 90s. They were from Germany and VERY hot rounds! I shot one through a gallon of water, two phone books, a 2x4 and a cinder block. I couldn't believe it.

i may have some of them still around.

This is not the L7A1 ammo that was over pressure +p+ subgun ammunition.

    .
I remember Arcane ammo from the 80's. Solid bronze alloy loaded very hot, punched though most anything, even better than that old Check steel jacketed stuff.
