    Off the Grid In Tennessee
Left for work this a.m. to put it nicely one of the male turkeys was going at one of the females. Thought he was being a bit over zealous but I wrote it off. Come home from work to find the hen in the same spot deceased in the same spot with blood on her neck. So one of two things occurred tom Killed her or the stupid turkey went at one of the kids (Baby Goats) and lgd put an end to it.

But here is my question is the turkey safe to eat? near as I can tell its been dead 8-10 hrs temps in low 60's here today.

    Thanks

If you cook it to an appropriate temperature, it is absolutely safe to eat. That's the correct answer especially if this is a survival-related question.

Was the female turkey even alive when the male was having his way? You really do not know how long she was dead....

I'd pass. Not worth the risk. Freshly killed is one thing, Hours old in those temps is another.
