Vortex or primary arms scope

I just got a new rugar precision rifle in 300 win mag, now I need a scope. I had finally decided to go with the vortex viper gen 2 5x25, then i started looking at the primary arms scopes, they have a 6x30 that seems to get good reviews, it’s a few hundred more, but honestly I don’t know if a few hundred more is worth it for 5x more magnification, seems like they have the same basic warrant, just looking for a little guidance from those with more optics experience than myself.

I will leave recommendations to others as I have little experience with scopes...still an iron sight guy.

I have never been disappointed with Vortex.

Vortex viper pst gen 2 is a phenomenal scope for the money. While i have zero experience with primary arms here is what I currently own from vortex:

Razor gen 2 hd 1-6
Viper pst gen 2 3-15
viper pst gen 1 4-16
Razor gen 1 5-20

All of these have been solid for me. The gen 2 pst glass is pretty close to the gen 1 razor quality.

I always buy my Vortex scopes from Alan and it makes a lot of sense to buy a refurb to save money since they have such a fantastic warranty.

Vortex Viper, from AAOptics (Alan) all the way. A Razor if you can swing the extra cost. I've got both and am very pleased.
