I have been going to this match since 2017, except for last year when it conflicted with the Henry County Gun Club shoot. The shoot both iron sights and scoped out to 400 yds and have a very loyal turnout each year.

    We had a good turnout with a No4mk1 "T", 1903a1, 2- 1903a4, 3 PU's K98 LSR, M1D, my ZFK and was a bright sunny day.
Now that said this years was a little colder than years past, 17* at registration time, with it finally breaking the 40* mark about 2pm. the course was the following.

Since there are no spotters when you shoot, the 5 minutes per round really flies by if you are off target on the 1st two rounds, and really makes corrections on the steel targets at 300 (8" round) and 400 (2/3rds silhouette) really difficult to do.

I took my trusty SOV and ZFK55 with me planning on shooting the SOV since I have not range time with my ZFK in close to 8 months. But during the 1/2 hour of practice before the shoot started, I decided to shoot the ZFK, 8 rounds 100 yds.

That sealed the deal, SOV stayed in the truck and the ZFK got the honors

first 100 yds I was 2nd with 99/100pts, and following tradition the 1st place shooter was beating me with one of my former guns.

At 200 yds I screwed up forgetting the scope is set for meters not yds (yeah pretty stupid, and was high on all the shots)

But I wasn't making that mistake again at 300 yds, and went 5-5 on the 8" steel target, with 2 PU snipers shooting both 5/5 and 4/5 and my old 03a4 just missing the cut going 3/5.

At 400 yds I missed my 2nd shot but still went 4/5 with the PU's going 0/5 & 2/5 which I attributed to their choice of LB ammo.

All in all a fun day, but it took me most of the 31/2 hr ride home to warm back up again.

I enjoy it to John, you need to see about coming down to Paris Tenn to the Henry County Gun Clubs Vintage Sniper Rifle Championship in May next year. They shoot 2-man (either bring your own partner or they will match you up with one) teams on a course out to 850 yards and is always a great weekend. They also do monthly 650 yd shoots for vintage snipers at there range, and do a Modern Sniper shoot in October.

Here are a few pics from this past Mays shoot.
