So I have a Mr Buddy (the big one) and am wondering about getting a ventless heater designed to be inside. They and the wall mount ones where you can have them free stand.

Any advantages of the inside designed ones vs the buddy heater?

Thinking I need to buy now as December they won’t be available.

Where we used to live we had a NG ventless heater in the sun room. It was the gravity fed model so it needed no electricity. I liked that if the power went out we would still be warm in that room. One drawback I found was it would put a lot of moisture in the air. Jim.

If for a prep supply, it'd be fine. By the time you needed to activate its use there wouldn't be any other options. If using for shop or garage space it's good also. If you're looking to heat your primary living space right now, in non-shtf time, I'd look to account for a properly vented heat source. A working CO detector as mentioned is a must.

I have a 35000 Mr Heater wall mount. Most moisture comes when I have a big temperature change like the 1st time I use it for the year. Regular furnace is set lower for nighttime and wall mount is shut off. It has a built in CO detector but who knows. I do turn it on first thing in the morn and use it all day. I'm happy with it

Any idea how fast it burns propane?

No mine is natural gas so it has ceramic plates and not a flame like LP. Bought it in the spring at TSC on sale for $125.00. Since I live alone I only heat 3 larger rooms plus bthrm.

I have three big issues with small/ventless...

    1. Waste combustion gasses.
    This one is self explanatory.

    2. Potential gas leaks.
Most people don't keep up on seal/gasket maintaince.

    3. Moisture.
For every pound of propane you burn, you produce about that in moisture.
    Without a vent it's trapped.
