I'm not a doctor, but I can wholeheartedly advise anyone being prescribed prednisone to read all they can and ask a lot of questions.

I've had it several times for bronchitis. It's typically a very short course. Never any ill effects.

I know it makes you more prone to infections, but that's all I'm aware of. I have had it several times, for illnesses and for arthritis flareups. Works very well, but after a while the Doc wouldn't give me any more.

I've had it several times to help clear up sinus infections and once for covid. Like most drugs it should be limited. I don't understand the "fear" involved.
