Anyone who trusts the government better open their eyes. Way too many sheep. The government machine is too big and too powerful. We have lost our way and our freedoms.

Those morons that thought Trump was an authoritarian - Biden "Hold my beer".

The only thing that has changed since 1990, is that now they are paying private companies to use the technology the NSA developed.

This has been going on for a LOOOOONG time.
Snowden wasn't some lunatic from outside the box. He saw what was going into the sausage.

This has been consistent under every president since Clinton, who obviously had his own authoritarian bs. Bush years and WoT industrialized it though, and Obama spun up the turbos.

I never understood why privacy advocates were never that interested in stopping the government from obtaining citizens data in the 1990's when they started collecting credit info from the credit score agencies and credit card companies that most Americans would have believed unconstitutional if the government itself had collected it back then. In the meantime the sheep have voted both in the voting booth and with their actions the don't give a flying f*** in a rolling donut about privacy, giving it away for trinkets...

The Plandemic has further proven that which 9-11 introduced: Americans want to be SAFE. They don't fear the government; they fear their fellow man. Both need to be feared to some degree, but since the former can protect them from the latter, people have apparently decided that's the better deal overall.

Government has taken note of this. They are not thwarting the public will; they're responding to it. The modern Social Contract is that the government is a provider of security services, which the public pays for in weekly installments via taxes.

This is how citizens see their monthly budget:

    $XXX per month homeowners' insurance
    $YYY per month car insurance
    $ZZZ per month health insurance
    $$$Uncle Sam - "everything else."

They don't see the government as a potential evil. They see it as an insurance company, which they despise sending money to - but they still WANT the protection. They figure they're going to pay for it anyway, so they want to get what they paid for.

The people can clearly see the slats being added to the fence...but they want to eat the corn.

This is a good reason as any to switch to Signal communications.
Even that is gonna ping your cell to a tower , if your talking about the signal app. Only solution to this is having buying a second hand device with cash, use VPN, use only public WiFi and turn it off when not checking or sending messages combine those steps with signal and you MIGHT be able to remain anonymous.

Everyone attending rallies of any kind now should adhere to those protocols.

Hey, if you don't have anything to hide...
    amiright? hmmmm?

I liked the article pointing out that they are only privatizing this because the CIA and NSA can't do this themselves... yeah, right.

So let me get this right.

The most popular president in history is worried about the citizens that supposedly think like him/voted for him? If he’s that loved and that popular, you’d think he wouldn’t feel threatened.

He obviously knows that’s bs and majority of the country voted for other guy. Now he feels the need to ensure the ones he ****ed out of an election aren’t pissed off enough to actually do anything about it.

Don’t worry. Our moral superiors will be in shortly to inform us how the election was fair and honest, Biden is a better choice, and spying on citizens is somehow ok now.

They're privatizing because of the law.
In the private sector they can exploit the same mechanisms used for marketing to build a dossier on you, and hand wave it away to conservatives as the "free market."

Because to some, sticking a brand name other than government on a tyrant somehow makes it no longer a tyrant.

Law abiding American citizens are the United States governments worst enemies it seems.
Some 60 years ago Ayn Rand reminded us that it is impossible to control those who follow the law, and that when one needs more criminals, he manufactures them.
