First, that sucks.

But, that's not a wooden box, that's two wooden boxes with cheap plastic tape to hold them together. Look at the tape ring. A solid box wouldn't break that cleanly.

If you care about what you ship, pack it accordingly.

Pretty sure it's one solid wood box from Kibler. His boxes are known to be tough.

I had two fishing rods shipped in a tube both broke in half including the tube. Fragile stickers don't bend stickers didn't matter. People have no pride in their work . Sorry about your predicament.
