I supervised a UAW skilled trades dept. for almost 8 years. I am a degreed engineer and all the guys made more than I did supervising them.
It was very disappointing some days, especially when I would put in 12-14 hour days and they scoot out the gate with 8.
Never had a grievance stick on me thru in my entire time though.
I considered that a big victory during my time.
In the similar position but a 3rd party contractor. It’s interesting to see how things work inside the plant. Just trying to get work accomplished is a bit daunting some days..

I spent a couple decades in CJs.
For getting around in the woods the 2 doors are great.
    But I wouldn't wheel a 40K vehicle.

In town they'd still be fun.
Like the look of the 2 dr.

Wheeling Jeeps (moderate) used to be a fun and not too expensive hobby.
    Not anymore.

Id be cool w a lunchbox locker in back and PS,PB and AC.
    Stick.

But I hate rust and lots of TJs are getting pretty bad.
Have to buy one from down south I reckon or out west.

Or just say to heck with it and get a new one.
Sport just checked was 44 MSRP.
    Not worth it IMHO.,

...THE UNITED AUTOMOBILE Workers Union (UAW) has denounced Donald Trump ahead of his plans to skip the GOP’s second presidential primary debate in favor of delivering a speech in Detroit, Michigan during a major auto workers strike.

“Every fiber of our union is being poured into fighting the billionaire class and an economy that enriches people like Donald Trump at the expense of workers,” said union president Shawn Fain in a statement on Tuesday.

“We can’t keep electing billionaires and millionaires that don’t have any understanding what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck and struggle to get by and expecting them to solve the problems of the working class,” Fain added...

Don't trust the media or what either side says LOL

Is what it is, eventually it'll get sorted out.
    Yeah, it always does.

In my advanced years, I've come to the conclusion that I don't need to pick a side in everything, especially in things that I don't know all of the issues and don't directly affect me.

I have to say that as to that other strike, I like that ABC will be putting more Monday Night Football on broadcast TV, cause I don't have a desire to pay for ESPN. That and when the new season of "Strange New Worlds" will come out are the extent of my interest in the SAG/AFTRA/Writers Guild thing.

And he thinks the Democrats that they support are different how, exactly?

Curious. When's the last time we elected a non-millionaire president?

On the interwebs, I saw something that said that all presidents since 1929 except Harry Truman have been millionaires. I can believe it.

I also don't care except to the extent that people are acting like it's unusual or something.

Fain's words really begin to sound socialist the longer he speaks. When he gets beyond speaking for his "brothers and sisters," he starts into the liberal narratives, like climate change and social justice.

I guess it might be different if he was hawking for more money in my pocket, but to me he's kinda hard to listen to.

    :dunno:
