How is the current market sustainable?
    Come on guys, convince me.
Read the automakers financial statements. They are still profitable. Sustainable is a fuzzy term. So is unsustainable. What metrics are needed to convince you? If its unsustainable, what is your prediction for the next 1 year? 5 years? If you can't make one can't really claim unsustainable because its just based on feelings one way or the other.

What I believe is most people find it unsustainable relative to themselves. Sure you and I may not be able to afford one so what?

I thought it was crazy when new cars topped 20k. now its hovering at 40k.

They don't care if you and I buy them as long as someone is buying them.

They don’t but they should. This isn’t so much of a commentary of auto manufacturers as it is society at large, but taking a myopic view of the numbers has gotten us into trouble as a nation.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with auto manufacturers gouging folks at an opportune time a la covid, but when the shoe is on the other foot there should be no government handouts/subsidies etc.

But in reality Id rather every dealership and auto manufacturer be run by someone like a Ray Lambrecht. It would be better for everyone in both the short term and long term.

It's not awkward, it's a fact. Sales are steady. Those that can afford them are still buying them.

Those that can't afford them are defaulting on them.

Cooper's Hawk was PACKED tonight (and not everyone was there on the companies dime, as I was).

So again, tell me how the sky is falling?
    Well... whistling in the dark.

Prices and rates are out of control, there has to be a correction.
Prices will come down, jobs will be lost.
Stellantis jacked up prices too high and made to many of what folks don't want.

They have issues with the '25 Ram rollout and plenty of base model trucks on lots with very few high end trucks (which are in demand)...

More people are defaulting. What happens to those defaults?
The sales number are "up" great.. but to people that can't pay for them.
Banks are setting on a stack of repos that are going to be a net loss.
That is going to further the financial problems.

Don't worry, the government will fix it.

I'm just saying, the sky isn't falling, the big 3 (well maybe Stellantis) aren't going anywhere...

Look at the data, not BS videos...

    Brilliant!

That will be another challenge for new Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, who six weeks ago was given the job of turning around a company that has lost more than $25 billion in the last six years and fallen behind European rival Airbus.
24% over four years isn't enough. They want 40% over three.

Retailers have been feverishly bringing in merchandise, months ahead of these possible strikes.

So much so, it was a peak season during non peak...

With reference to the post above about AOC’s feigned displeasure with the Teamsters; all I can say is that AOC is a POS and what did she ever do to earn the help of the Teamsters for the Democraps?
    Nothing! :rockwoot:
