    That's correct.

It did not take balls to turn Trump down. He did the right thing. If it had gone to court I doubt it would have gone anywhere close to Trump's way.
But it WOULD have gone to court. One of the more aggravating things is the evidence was never heard, but then we have to listen to 'But there's no evidence' when we are awash in circumstantial evidence (kept so by lack of discovery and/or court vetting of evidence) that something is very rotten in Denmark DC. We should have had our days in court if they wanted to put the issue to rest

A violation of state law... 'nuff said.
Would not preventing the observers from doing their job also be a violation of state law (unless you can come up with someone actually on the scene going on the record to say there were 134 observers or more inside the counting room). Not sure how some party apparatchik gets to say what is or is not a violation of the law and impose ad hoc penalties (or not)

If that went to court, the case would be the court deciding whether Pence has the power to throw out electors' votes. Why do you think the evidence you want brought be relevant?

Love that, so perfect and so nostalgic. As a fan of the hapless White Sox, it's like watching a video of the 2005 MLB playoffs.

Whether Trump got the shaft in 2020, and whether he's still the most effective person to carry forward the "America First" message, are two completely separate questions.

Even if you could conclusively prove the first point, it still wouldn't establish that he's entitled to, or even deserves, another shot.

    .
It's telling that establishment politicians won't commit to America First as a policy.

For me this was a big part of Trump's appeal, leadership in this country needs to quit thinking of themselves as players on a world stage. They need to first be representing the people who voted for them, and it's distressing to think that many people in this country would want to see it subordinated to the rule of foreign powers.

Crime was a good point in the last election in the cities, but it just didn't seem to have risen to the level where people abandoned the wishes of the local machines. I don't know at what condition things have to get for average city citizens before they decide it's too much. Chicago clearly is still below that threshold.
It seems like we're more tribal now than ever before. There have always been partisans and the real work was persuading the persuadable to vote for your guy. Seems like there are far fewer of the persuadable types now.

In the cities I wonder what the threshold is. For those that live there, the crime problem is self evident. You don't need somebody political knocking at the door or down at the local watering hole to tell people it's not safe to go outside. Drawing the connection between government that puts crazed drug dealers back on the street to kill again isn't that hard, yet so many in the city keep the same leadership.

It's telling that establishment politicians won't commit to America First as a policy.
The elites learned the lesson well: there's a lot of money to be made at Estate Sales.

They successfully branded the main advocate of America First as a wacist.

Now he's playing right into their hands, by spending the _current_ poker game complaining about the _last_ poker game.

There are people who "lean" toward Biden but aren't enthusiastic. The focus of the right-leaning American Universe needs to be figuring out how to legally keep these people HOME on election day.

The GOP's focus needs to be getting its head out of donors' azzes and figuring out how to push-mail ballot requests to past Republican voters, whose names they already have on lists, and locking in those people's participation before Labor Day.

Trump's focus should be explaining to people why they should vote for him _now_.

B!tchin' and p!ssin' about 2020 is doing none of these.

Whether Trump [DeSantis] got the shaft [brass ring] in 2020, and whether he's still [even] the most effective person to carry forward the "America First" message, are two completely separate questions.

Now just replace Trump with DeSantis. Same same

In my lifetime yes. Probably the time leading up to and immediately after
    the civil war
    was worse.
