I could be wrong but I doubt any race has been by a wright in above a county level race. The primaries are the time to get rid of RINOs, that has been said by many many voices and it is correct. It has also been said many many times that a vote for a 3rd party is a vote wasted and a third party will get more votes than a wright in.
Don't even talk about the Senate, you remember the Senate that will save us! We need a solid majority in the Senate to "save" us not a 50-50 split with the vp having the tie breaker. I will not feel good unless we have a 54-45 split or better and I know that is difficult. I think that is a big enough margin to absorb the RINOs that are there.
I hate RINOs but the numbers have to be there to hold the Senate and the Dem's will stick together no matter what, well Manchin and the woman from Arizona put up a good front but in the end went with the flow. This is not the time to not vote or make a protest vote, things are too close to take a chance. Jim.

You are correct. It comes down to a numbers game and I would want the "R" in the majority over the "D". A lot can happen in the last 2 years of the FJB administration. I'm deathly afraid what would happen to the Supreme Court if a vacancy or two would open up and the "R" weren't in the majority. I'm in no way a butt kissing lap dog for the "R" but reality is reality for me. You folk's in Indiana are lucky to have 2 "R" in the senate for you. I have to deal with two "D" Senators and would gladly vote for a milk toast "R" to replace either one of them.

Hoosiers are quick to forget (or even outright deny) that we had six years of having every single important senatorial vote cancelled by allowing a dem and republican to represent our state. Not to mention, a LOT of the "crossover votes" that our dem senator made were orchestrated by dem leadership, knowing they had winning numbers without him, so he might attempt reelection.

We were big losers in a LOT of legislation at a critical time, all because some Hoosiers "just couldn't bring themselves" to vote for a less than perfect republican.

    .......................................................................................

I don't like Young one little bit. No way I will allow a dem in his seat though, if I have any say in the matter.

Voting for another candidate is the process. I see no requirement that the alternative be in the same party. You seem to believe that keeping a rino that we can’t trust is the best option. I disagree. Keeping him is a lifetime of legislative disappointment
It is better to have a rep we cannot trust, than a rep we can trust to do everything we do not want.

So the plan is to elect a dem?

Could you list some of these losses he caused?

    Let's look at history here.

Murdoch beat Luger, which is what you are saying is the necessary way to do things. That got us Donnelly. Donnelly got us Braun.

In the years I've been associated with this board, rarely does anything get my blood circulating as fast as this topic. Yes, Young could and must be better aligned with typical Hoosiers. In contrast, have you seen Democrat Thomas McDermott's ads? You WILL NOT want to see him as our senator. I've said it before: He'll be a rubber stamp for every whacky democrat program. But that's not all -- oooh no it isn't! He'll want to outshine his fellow dems with even screwier ideas. Those of you not wanting to vote Republican, get a grip. It's a sad position to be in when we must vote against someone rather than for someone but it is necessary to vote against McDermott.

Agreed. We lost the chance to toss Young when no one primaried him and I can’t see a libertarian or conservative write-in doing anything in Indiana other than siphoning votes from the “official” Republican. Many vote straight party and they’d never run across the write-in option. The only possibility would be a massive public write-in campaign by someone with widespread name recognition who is going all out to win and no one fills that bill. Holcomb’s the only one I can envision who might have a shot, but (1) he’s not running and (2) might not be any better than Young if he did win! Just going to hold my nose and vote to try to make sure we keep two R senators and don’t risk getting a D who is guaranteed to cancel Braun all the time.

I told Young if he voted for gun control one more time I would not vote for him. He obviously didn't want my vote because he's voted for more gun control that will do nothing to stop evil people. It will hinder good people from obtaining firearms.
Young is also a socialist when it comes to our economy. Look at his voting record.

Looking at his voting record. Lots of donkeys and socialists hate Young. I didn't see any socialist voting. But if INGO says so, I guess I'll go ahead, cross my arms, stamp my foot and vote for a ***damned democrat. That will make things better.

Edit: Sorry, thought the filters would catch this. Asterisks added.

    Don't worry.

    Young will be elected.
