This where I am at too. Always carry in or out of the house and also have a spare mag or two when off of my property. This is how I've done it for close to 15 years and it is what makes me comfortable. If I have a gun on me, which is 100% of the time when out and about, I've always got at least one reload, usually 2. Just a habit I got into and don't feel the need to change.

Similar to old school revolver cops when they were found dead with empty brass in their pockets and live rounds still in dump pouches? In what scenario are those speed strips be of value?
And in my reading, this was one of the reasons that Leo training was altered back when revolvers were still widely in use.Similar to old school revolver cops when they were found dead with empty brass in their pockets and live rounds still in dump pouches?
Every pistol I carry gets a setup like this or very similar. Usually, that means 51 rounds total. (Or more)
Not a 40 year user, extra mag for any platform is should be a requirement for your edc set upBeen a 1911 guy for 40 years. Never occurred to me not to have an extra mag.
