Yeah, IMHO you aint gonna touch a reg (non match) blued that has its sights still on, for under 200.
Auction site.....w tax n shipping, add 50 or more.
    At least that.

Contender stuff took a hit w PCR and HP rifle legal for deer in Indiana (killed much of the specialty pistol and even revolver market). BUT...........the small stuff in Contender barrels seems to hold the value better.

Picked up a Super 14 bbl w the silhouette sights (factory). But they're on so well Im afraid to chew em up trying to get em off. Will add a bit of heat tomorrow.

May run an AO rifle scope on it for an oddball tree rat popper.

    Super 16's were actually 16.25".
I had one in .35 rem.
Made the rifle way muzzle light, and tough to shoot offhand.
Added #8 shot and epoxy to the hollows of the G2 forend and made it behave.
G2 forends work on an original, just gotta file a bit of clearance for trigger guard. Easy mod.

So yes, you can put a stock on it and run as a rifle.
BTW, Super 16 bbls are getting a bit pricey.

Mine is an early version .45-70, would make a cool carbine, if I can find an affordable walnut stock.

Id not go walnut stock on it. The factory ones often split the ears.
The Choate/TC synthetic is pretty good, but the comb is low for iron sights.
I made a cheekriser out of Kydex for mine.
Looked funky w short bbl, if 18.5 might have kept it.

I do have a walnut lefty stock, possibly Fajen.

Laminates, like from Boyds, have thicker ears and may be less prone to splitting.
But that extra wood really changes the feel of the stocks IMHO.
They become too thick and club like.
Better IMHO the thin Choate/TC factory synth.
