Okay, Here goes. I will try to keep this short. Last week one day my wife and I are driving down the road and we get to discussing the clowns in Washington and their anti-gun agenda. More specifically their hate for black rifles. My wife turns to me and says. "AR15's are NO different than any other type of firearms I just do not see a problem with them?" I WANT you to get an AR, I would feel safer in the house having an AR present" I almost wrecked the car. Now, you must understand my wife does not come from a gun family. In-fact her parents are the consummate liberals. However she does not share their views. How she ended up with me( this June 40 years) I do not know because I am PURE Pro-Gun always have been. I guess my years of pro-gun maybe has had a positive effect on her? So...yes I picked up my NIB Colt LE6920 (old school Colt) this past Thursday afternoon from my FFL "Down By The Tracks " Galveston, IN. I have always wanted a old school Colt 6920. I know...others feel with Colt you are just paying for the name, but so be, it I wanted a real Colt M4. Hope I never lose it in a boating accident. Anyway..I love that woman. Thats my story.:woot:

My wife same situation, her pro union dad and socialist mom, hate me and her I think. My wife likes guns and capitalism!! Her opinion is if it's a good deal buy it, if it's an investment or something you will shoot often.

The sun moon & stars all came together last week. Found a long forgotten box of M1 Garand bolts and things, traded them for a nice 3P smallbore rifle

My better half is a bit like that.

When I say, "I think we need a <insert firearm here>" she says, "Yes. You should get that".

At least that's what I hear...not sure about what she says sometimes.

It's nice to have a wife that's on the same page. My wife never questions when I buy a new firearm because we fully support each others' hobbies. I never question her when she buys more plants. It's a great situation for both of us.

I do keep detailed spreadsheets though so if I ever go missing, she has knowledge of what's in the safe, what they're worth and how to dispose of them if she wants to. It's the least I can do.

I think this is a good thread to discuss significant others getting their first firearm.

Mrs squid was a neutral before me. Never been around em. When she started spending time around the house I told her that I’d have to teach her basic safety, which was well received.

I never pushed for her to have one and she never asked. Until about 6 years into marriage she started to want to take my LCP on occasion to Fort Wayne. So we agreed on doing some training with it. The LCP kidnappings continued and eventually she told me to buy another one.

The LCP is good and practical but she said that she wanted one for her bedside as well. And that she wanted “one that actually looked good”. Ended up finding a Charter Lavender Lady she couldn’t live without. I’m proud of her.
