There is actually a statute in Indiana which “outlaws” this very situation! Left lane Bandits are dangerous idiots. Too bad it is not enforced enough on an everyday basis by the State Police or IMPD. The one or two times an officer or trooper issued a ticket for this violation it actually garnered a short article in the Indy Star! Must have been a slow news day in the Circle City.

    It's a picture.
    And pictures lie.

The left lane could be going 100 mph, with the right lane going 50 mph.

Just like when you turn your head and someone takes a picture while turning.
And it looks to your girlfriend that you're looking at another girl, when really you were simply turning.

Not to be outdone by the little old ladies with blue hair who stick the Lincoln Continental in the middle lane in Traverse City, MI and ride it all the way to Miami.

Drover to CHicago and back last week, I-65. I think that is a safe zone for traffic laws.

If you’re in the passing lane, and you have traffic backed up to your ass, you’re in the wrong lane. And if the left lane is going 100 mph and those car are that close, if the driver of the front car sneezes enough to take his foot off the pedal, that whole line of traffic is gonna be up his ass.
