    Now I'm sure the ones in the color photo are very nice people. They probably have wonderful personalities. I would not speak against their intelligence, either, without data to support doing so (and no, a guy in a tan bra and pink panti....um....skivvies......may not be very masculine, but he could still be intelligent.) With all of that said,

    I am forced to wonder, in the intervening 30 years.... Where the F did we as a society go wrong?

    In elementary school, it was a tried for and hard won honor to be the one who got to go to the office that day and say the Pledge Of Allegiance over the intercom for all, at final bell for school.
    You had to get good grades, best improvement, helping someone, doing something helpful for the school or community, being a good citizen, etc. in order to WIN that honor.

    They took away "winning" by giving everyone a trophy and the game or any reason to improve was over!
