Remember when they told you to charge your electric car at night during off peak hours so you could reduce demand on the grid, pay a lower price per kW hr and have a vehicle charged up for your morning commute? Forget all that. You should wait to charge your EV in the morning after you get to work. If you have the range to actually get there.

I kind of figured this would happen once EV ownership reached a certain critical mass.

California is so messed up. They never seem to think anything through. They just virtue signal through legislation.

Gas tax? You arent paying enough to drive on our roads because you arent buying enough gas, electric car owners.
So moving forward, Hybrids pay an extra $75 in registration fees for hybrids, $300 for plug in electric cars. (per year)

My numbers are the new ones for next year. And instead of going up every couple years, the increases are every year now.
So the state subsides purchases of EVs, up to $7500, and then bleeds it back in the form of a gas tax. Probably should just end the subsidies. Maybe raise the road tax to $225/year to be fair.

I saw what I think was a Tesla truck out in the wild today, charging at the Beech Grove Walmart.
That thing is the size of an H1.

They should add a battery recycling fee to the cost of every car and make the last owner prove the battery was removed safely and recycled or pay an additional fine starting at the original cost of the vehicle.

Indiana has that registration fee on Hybrids already. Has had for years. Interesting, though. My wife's hybrid does not get "order of magnitude" better gas mileage than my Subaru Outback.

WEF admits EV’s are not enough to achieve their goals.

“Moreover, WEF stated that switching to electric vehicles isn’t enough to achieve these benefits. People need to combine it with more use of shared transport and changes to how our cities are designed. This means making cities more compact and easier to get around by walking or biking, and prioritizing public and shared transport.”
