If everything used the same plug in, it wouldn't have been necessary, but I think I have 3 different plug ins that use USB and only one extra port on the back of the computer. And as I am sure you know, when you are plugging in a USB cable, especially blind, it is a minimum of three attempts to get it in right.

The only thing I use my USB port(s) for is for my external hard drive if I want to back something up. I'm just a simple man.

But what about your phone, tablet, etc.

I don't have a tablet. Phone goes on the charger when I get up in the morning (plugged in to a power strip). It charges in about 20-30 minutes tops. My phone rarely gets below 85-90% charge (I'm not much of a phone talker).

In fact there are many days when I don't talk on the phone at all. I do use the alarm as a second one in the mornings, and I use it when I take a nap at lunch when I'm working.
