Messaging and branding is based on 1000s of hours of research, polling, focus groups, etc, all at enormous cost. It costs so much because it works. Nobody would advise this administration to say and do the things they are doing. They are either ignoring advise, or not seeking it. The only kind of people who do this when the stakes are this high are zealots.

I think it's more they are banking on the media spinning everything for them. Classic example is the OP. It's not propaganda, it's protecting us from evil "Dis-information."

The exciting thing is maybe we're starting to see the culture shift back toward "normal." Even the media can't spin some of the crazy talking points coming out. Who knows I could be crazy. I guess we'll see in Nov.
