Heard on NPR this morning during the local station fundraiser (said by one of their national "news" people):
"The decline of fact-based reporting is a threat to our democracy."
1. Since when has NPR ever been involved in fact-based reporting?
2. "Threat to our democracy" is the "crying wolf" of our times - used so much about so many things it has lost all meaning.

I don't think the lack of fact-based reporting is the real problem, it is the careful picking and choosing of which facts to report in order to fit a narrative and a populace that largely only ever sees one narrative or the other.

Which is why I listen to NPR in the first place - don't want to live in an echo chamber.
