Not sure what you mean? Deal with it as in the parade was cancelled or that the parade should go on and the kids should just deal with it?
    The parade should go on.

If every minority group gets its way, no cultural celebrations would be allowed if objections are raised.

So, **** em. They don't want to participate? Do what they did for kids in my day whose noses got bent out of joint because of some such celebration: Send them to study hall and make them write an essay on why they don't want to participate, while the rest of the kids are having fun and eating cupcakes.

**** em. It's just as relevant as Kwanzaa, which is a made-up holiday by a Black Panther extremist back in the 1960's

Yeah, welcome to the real world for them. When they get to high school i'm sure some will be upset they're not on the football team or the cheer team or some students have nicer cars out in the parking lot etc. I'm sure if it was just about money to afford a costume something could have been done about that. I'm guessing this was more about those on the 'racial equity team' virtue signaling more so than the students really being that bothered.

“They can lie down in front of my lorry—
but it will be the last lorry in front of which they’ll lie down.”
    "Old man lying
By the side of the road
    With the lorries rolling by
    Blue moon sinking
From the weight of the load
And the buildings scrape the sky

    Cold wind ripping
    Down the alley at dawn
    And the morning paper flies
    Dead man lying
By the side of the road
With the daylight in his eyes"

I have no use for his political views, but Neil Young makes some good music.

    Mr. Prosser:
Do you know how much damage this bulldozer would sustain if I just let it roll over you?
    Arthur:
    How much?
    Mr. Prosser:
    None at all.

A lot of feminist upset about this.
I'd like to point out, lots of women in history have used fake name to publish, and a lot of times, they used a man's name.
