    I'm not sure that there was a lot of overlap where Pontiacs and Lotuses (Loti?) may see each other near a track.
    If you wanted them closer together than the parking lot near the track, then no Ponchos have been pace cars. It was a Ford Escort Cosworth at the French and British GPs in '92, but it mostly has been Benzs and Astons

    They've only been using a safety car since '73

    They have had Lotus cars several times in the Indy 500 as well as a few Pontiac pace cars - just not in the same years.


    In Formula 1 that 1973 pace car was a Porsche 914 - they are quite slow. The pace car screwed up bad that year and they didn't use another pace car for 20 years after that.
