Had a very nice time with gmcttr at the range this afternoon. Sadly it was 15 minutes from when I had to leave when I realized I have not yet cleaned the factory grease off the Galil...so it still has not gotten out to play.

I can't get the handguard off to change it for the life of me. I either need to try it after shooting a ton or hit it with a hair dryer. I might try the hairdryer approach tonight and see if that helps.

Picked up a Colt 1849 Pocket Model from 1850, here between Colt's most successful pocket gun the 1903 and the gardener's Detective Special. It was a big seller in it's day, rather than guns like the Dragoon this was the handgun people liked and took with them when traveling west before the civil war.
