    I'm in Ripley = Versailles

    We must get together soon.

So are you a Bite the Bullet or AcmeSports guy..?
BTB. The owner is a year or 2 younger than me, and we went to the same school. Ive had bad CS experiences in Acme.

You up to anything tomorrow morning? A close friend (and new INGO'er) are going to Crosley range tomorrow. Short notice I realize, but be happy to have you join us.

Mark and I once completed the DARE to ride 55 trek together. We were 13ish. All 55mi on a 20" Diamondback Viper. Ironically, I spoke to his parents this morning. They came in a restaurant as my youngest and I were just starting to eat. Excellent family/people.

Took the day off work and put in 6 hours at the range, including a lunch break. :)

Sorted out the previous issues with the Tippmann. Not a scope issue. It definitely does not like that flash hider, really hates bare threads and loves the thread protector, so I guess that's my donation to harmonics research today. Still no dice with any of the match ammo, SK Rifle Match did improve, but CCI SV still won the day.

Since I've been spending so much time with 22 guns for awhile now, I forgot about barrel heat being an issue when shooting centerfire rifles for groups. Got a refresher course the hard way with the 308 today. Started out using the suppressor during initial sight in at 50 yards and really struggled getting a good zero. Got it close and moved to 100 yards, after a bit at 100, the light bulb dinged and I realized I wasn't letting the barrel cool down for 1-2 minutes in between groups. Once I started doing that, the rifle was consistently putting together just over 2" groups with ZQI 147gr FMJ 7.62x51 (M80) ammo (this stuff used be sub-50 cents back in the day). I'm happy with that for now, especially since I still have 720 rounds of ZQI ammo. Best 3-shot group was 1.61".

I apologize to myself and the rest of you for my doddg-like splatter target, I super promise there's a couple of good 3-shot groups in there. I really struggled with the permanent marker today.....

I saved the best for last, my beloved Noveske 18" 5.56 SPR. I don't know if a firearm is able to be a soulmate, but if that's a thing, then me and the Noveske were made for each other. I absolutely LOVE this rifle and really enjoyed shooting it today. I haven't had this rifle out for testing in a very long time ( I think over a year, actually ). I tested out some different ammo today at 100 yards and beat my previous best 5-shot group record of 0.730" five times today and two of those were from the same brand. Norma Match 223 absolutely slaughtered it with a 0.398" and a strong 0.700" group as well.

    0.398" Norma Match 223 77gr
    0.443" Hornady Frontier 5.56 75gr
    0.684" IMI Razor Core 5.56 77gr
    0.687" Australian Outback 223 69gr
    0.700" Norma Match 223 77gr
    0.865" IMI Razor Core 5.56 77gr
    1.000" Nosler SSA 5.56 77gr
    1.100" Hornady Frontier 5.56 75gr
    1.110" Hornady Frontier 5.56 75gr
    1.200" PPU 55gr FMJ M193
    1.240" Australian Outback 223 69gr

The gardener is firing up the air fryer for fish and fries this evening. It does a decent job with frozen stuff, but I do miss the grease.
Had the same for lunch today from the air fryer. Quick and easy cooking in that thing. Just about as fast as heating up a frozen dinner in the microwave and more tasty.

Went shed hunting again today, still coming up with nothing. A good woods walk though, early signs of spring everywhere.

The new optic came in today and it is mounted and leveled but has not been boresighted yet. I’ll work on getting it zeroed at 100 yards tomorrow. I have to zero an Eotech on the Sig 516 upper tomorrow too. Two projects for one range trip should be enough

Only us took a couple of minutes to boresight WT's rifle at the last range trip.

Yep, have to re-boresight my Bergara and boresight my RART as well. Hopefully both will be as quick and easy as last weekend for my Bergara.
