I see that B2V reacted to my post. I saw an addicted opium population in Turkey ... that among other amazing examples, were using shotguns with holes in the barrels (patched with aluminum cans held on with twisted wire).
The Turks in Istanbul (where the Tisas factory is located) are more European in nature, but still, the society is hundreds of years behind ours.

I'll be honest, I am always about learning more. I am one of those that prefers someone show me, or help me do something the first time. So taking a training class makes sense to me.

I am comfortable enough in myself to be able to say, I don't know or I don't think I would be a good one to teach my wife. I think she needs someone else. I might take the basic pistol with her, but I might not, if she would be more comfortable without me standing around. It will all depend on her.
That's a very healthy attitude, and one I'm still working on developing.

That does sound like the reputation of Huglus I've read on the interwebz.

    Morning, Everyone. :coffee:
Gotta run an errand then stay off the distracting websites for the day.
    Have a good day!

"The United States has its own firearm standards, voluntary standards at that, but they are still published standards. In Europe, we have the C.I.P. body of standards for firearms, standards that more or less carry the force of law, yet can be ignored in shipments to the United States, which is not a CIP signatory. The standards for Turkish product are dubious, for Turkey is not part of the C.I.P. nor need they pay any attention to SAAMI voluntary standards. The “cooperative” type of company, as in Turkey, often has piece-workers and the person that is supposed to be in charge of quality control is sometimes the same person making the part. This is not an environment that is conducive to consistency or quality."

The only Turkish gun I own or would own would be the caniks. I grabbed the tp9sa when it was first in the us market.. I love shooting that gun.
