Honestly, I thought Russia would walk through the country before the West had a chance to re-supply Ukraine. Now its a war of attrition and Zelinsky seems to be holding his country together.

I'd rather we spend $400 billion in aid to Ukraine than student loan forgiveness....(sorry if you are a benefactor but after paying for four college degrees - that's just how I feel about it).

I agree about the student loan forgiveness. Neither of my kids took any student loans. I'm tired of the redistribution of wealth to those who make poor choices.

Regarding Putin, it will be interesting if those folks keeping him in power decide he's become too much of a liability and do something about him themselves.

I'm just concerned he is backed into a corner as he's shown Russia isn't the super power people thought they were and gets desperate. Like you, I think a lot of people, including neighboring countries thought they would take Ukraine easily. Now everyone knows the neighborhood bully isn't so tough.

Having spent my time in the Air Force as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist (we were nicknamed "mushroom farmers) .... there was one thing that we all said, after watching all of the classified films of the results.
We said "the living will envy the dead". It's true. There won't be any winners.

I think they could win a tactical nuclear war without "mutual destruction" its not like they would attack our cities. That wouldn't benefit them. But they would be happy to wipe out our defenses and hold the cities hostage. (Worst case scenario).

First bands of rain hitting the grandson in Sarasota. Daughter here in Indiana but grandson is in Florida with ex-husband. He decided to stay at house in spite of being in a mandatory evac zone. Can you say "dumba$$"?

At least they are in a new two story house......on a channel to Tampa Bay.
