Holy Cow! Used 40 cal Rami for $1500? I figured a premium, but that's ridiculous.

Anybody seen one of these? Saw posted on another forum. Wonder if they are any good and if Springfield or others will follow suit with a carry version. Interesting idea!

Girsan MC P35 PI - EAA Corp.
9mm Carry-Size Pistol 3-Dot Sight System All-Steel Construction Ambidextrous Safety 3.88" Barrel FINISH: BLUE/BLACK CAL: 9mm CAP: 15+1 BBL: 3.88″ OAL: 6.25″ WT: 1.6 lbs UPC: 741566905773 MSRP: $630eaacorp.com
I should add that last week Indiana Firearms here in Lebanon had a Charles Daly Hi-Power clone for $450 used. The fit and finish seemed better than the particular Girsan I held. I’m not that knowledgeable about Hi-Powers and I don’t know how true it is to the original.I held a full size Girsan P35 at a LGS. I was not impressed with the fit and finish. Which is saying a lot as I’m usually more budget minded. There were metal shavings inside the gun. The trigger was disappointing. It may have just been that particular one. A friend has one and told me they like theirs and that the fit and finish was fine. Something like that I’d have to see in person rather than order online.

It might have just been that particular one, i've owned one and handled several others and the ones i've seen aren't any worse than a Browning MKIII, most all BHP triggers are disappointing.I held a full size Girsan P35 at a LGS. "Dad bod" sounds much better than what I was called at the doctor today. 30% BMI is considered obese...apparently I'm 33%.Man, I did it again… On the way home I thought to myself “I should fast dinner to try and trim the dad bod”. I got home and the wife already had a feast made. It’d be rude of me to not compliment the chef! But the kids didn’t like it and didn’t touch their plates. So I went from fasting to having fourths… and now I’m looking for dessert…
I’ll give ya tree-fiddy...... not that I was looking to sell my 9mm (yet), but that's a nice surprise !

Yeah that is a definite turn off. If it really is an awesome gun then I would have that removed.Looks interesting but I hate that they put a warning on the frame....
Bingo!I’ll give ya tree-fiddy.
Am I doing it right?
Those Charles Daly Hi-Powers are fairly well regarded. Feg kits assembled state side by, first Dan Wesson and then ?????? but with a big ugly roll mark.I should add that last week Indiana Firearms here in Lebanon had a Charles Daly Hi-Power clone for $450 used. Looks like a good start.Have some things on order to help me be a little more precise in my hobbyist level drilling/milling adventures. I don't have the room for a large Bridgeport mill, nor the ability to finance that endeavor either. I do want to get into a little more spirited adventures though while making ordinary tasks on my drill press easier too. Yes, I know a drill press is not a mill and the issues that can arise if trying to use one like a mill.
Here is what I have on order. Again, hobbyist level, but I tried to find things that had good value at their price point (as always).
*I dropped a parallel bar on my foot tonight, that hurt, and I don't recommend you try that at home.

Tree fiddy!I don't know if people saw, but the Mosin Crate has some Israeli Bul Storms, CZ 75 Clones up for sale tomorrow.
The Mosin Crate
Just having these things would have been beneficial making those wooden revolver grips. I did a lot of monkeying around getting those grips made. The compound slide table alone would have been a huge benefit. And something I noticed with my 4" Irwin drill press vise is that it lifts the component being clamped on the moving jaw side as it's being tightened, so that new precision milling vise will help with that issue on future projects.Looks like a good start.
If you are patient a drill press can do a lot of work.
Another alternative could be what I started with, it was a harbor freight type of table top mill, that took an R8 collet for toollholding and had an r8 drill chuck. It had a decent table, but no knee, obviously since it’s table top.
I paid a few hundred for it years ago off Craigslist. It now just serves as my drill press, mostly.
I’ve bought a lot at auctions, that’s where the mill and lathe came from, not sure if I’m ahead or not but like you wasn’t going to spend the big bucks on anything.
I know the kids don’t believe me, but Craigslist is still a thing…ok maybe fb marketplace.Just having these things would have been beneficial making those wooden revolver grips. That Harbor Freight mill you mention is like $899 for a new one. The one I would want is a Grizzly 0759 with a digital read out. $2895, plus $249 delivery, plus tax.
I’ll give ya tree-fiddy.
