We are heading into the February gloom. It's the gray month. Skies, trees, cars and even people are colorless in February.
    Some days
    there is no fire,
    no flame,
    people move slower
and war drums are overtaken by
    near-imperceptible pumping of heartbeats.
    Some days
    the blended hues of cumulus,
    the hum of quiet,
the taste of the sea air
    on the shore just outside
    are the constancy of grey.
    The mad rush stops,
    You look internally,
    and get reacquainted
    with yourself.
    You clean your guns
    inventory your ammo,
    organize the go bags,
    plan purchases and,
    ride the pantless hiway,
    on the days of grey.

I usually thought of Feb as super bright and extremely cold. That said, when it's gray and overcast it is usually warmer than when it's crystal clear and bright on Feb.

I've always thought of January as the cold, bright month. February is when winter and spring begin their annual struggle for dominance
