I am interested in getting a can for my Glock 19. I am on here seeking some information. I have been told that the design of the glock is not good for suppressors, and that it causes a lot of malfunctions. If anyone could help me out with some information from experience I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks..

I have been hearing that crap lately...who the heck said that? Come on over and run a few hundred through mine and it won't hiccup! :)

INGO's own Colt45er got a suppressed G17 to choke at NFA day a few years ago! But no one else did...

Suppressing a Glock is easy! Buy proper barrel, buy suppressor + booster, install, go shoot!

Compare the first pic. 9x19, model 17. Finger-grooves, and single pin in the trigger-group = early Glock. EBG

Which pic? Shooter521's photo?

It's a 3rd Gen G17, as has been said. It's NOT an "early Glock"

With the single pin, it IS an early 3rd Gen G17.

BIG difference between an "early Glock" and an "early 3rd Gen Glock".

My glock eats everything I throw at it suppressed or not, and the only time it doesn't cycle right is when I use a can without a booster (but you wouldn't expect it to).

Get yourself a lone-wolf threaded barrel, a supressor of your choosing (I like Gem-Tech, but everyone has a preference), and go to town. 10k rounds later you will still be shooting and grinning like a mad ijet.

What exactly is a booster?

Sometimes called a Nielsen device.
Muzzle booster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Basically, it helps the pistol function with the weight of a suppressor on the end of a barrel.

To reiterate: NO. Now, when I first had my LW barrel, I had a few hiccups while it was being broke in, but after less than 100 rounds, it ran fine. Also, it is important to use quality ammo for function. I have found some range ammo to not have enough ummpphh to function 100%

Think that your hiccups were due to barrel/frame break in or booster break in? I wouldn't think that the booster would need any kind of 'break in" period...

Just curious. :dunno:
