Strangely, the woke "defund the police" crowd don't seem to get it?

They are blaming the violence on the guns vs lack of a police presence, or a neutered one.

The thugs know this along with the fact that liberal woke prosecutors will let them go without charges.

The second part of that is key. If you don't have repercussions to your actions and have no moral compass, what keeps you from committing whatever crimes you may choose? Nothing.

I also get tired of the whole gun violence thing, especially when it's discussed in relation to legal gun owners. Yes, we have a "gun violence problem", that is, criminals with illegally owned firearms causing violence and crime with them. Legal gun owners, however, commit crime even less than police officers, according to statistics. Really tired of people lumping legal gun owners into the whole "gun violence" argument...

    .
City probably figures all this would go away if only they could enact their own gun control laws. That always plays better with big media.

The police should find out who this "gun violence" is, investigate, gather evidence and then make an arrest. Prosecutors should prosecute this "gun violence" person, I mean if they aren't so busy having press conferences to explain away mass murders at FedEx.
Then people would have to "do their job".
Like up here where "Westforth" is being sued because guns sold there are being used in crimes.
What Chicago SHOULD do, is use this info to investigate people buying those guns, and selling them across State lines (and to felons).
Instead, they are going after the store.

defund the prosecotor's office. fire some of the judges.

bring back public hanging & the firing squad

I've heard it said (and I agree), that the justice system protects the criminal AND the public, from the public.
Because vigilante justice can be "rough" on the criminal.
But it also can be inaccurate, and err against innocent citizens.

So, as long as people have faith in the justice system...
But then, when people LOSE faith in the justice system...

yup. it is easier for the prosecutor to go after the law abiding people than to upset the criminals.

it is disgraceful really. the price of crime has gone down but the rewards keep growing.

i lost faith in the justice system years ago. i've seen too many killers and drug dealers back on the streets lately.

They see going after the store and putting them out of business as solving their problems. If it can be proven that the store knowingly sold firearms to unsavory individuals with the intent to distribute them illegally then sure go after the store.

Otherwise how about focusing on putting the criminals out of business instead?

hell chicago has just given the criminals free reign. the police can no longer pursue criminals if there is a possibility the crims can get away. all they need is to be 1 step faster and their crime paid off.

this bull of allowing thugs a 2nd, 3rd, 4th chance only stops when it affects the rich neighborhoods. this is going on across the country in bigger cities.meanwhile we, the honest tax paying, law abiding people are left to fend for ourselves. heaven forbid we have to use force. we'll end up being persecuted by the bleeding hearts because we defended ourselves and our own property.

It's the same thing that happened when some were condoning what blm and antifa were doing in the name of "peaceful protests" and calling for defunding the police until it got a little too close to their neighborhoods.

i read this morning where some residents in minneapolis are suing the mayor, the police, and city council over the "peaceful protests" that are still taking place there.

portland is still in flames because of the "peaceful protests". the state police pulled out because the local prosecutors refuse to charge any of the "protesters".

the prosecutors office in baltimore has stated they will no longer prosecute misdemeanors amd since they are like most cities now, the prosecutors plead most felonies down to misdemeanors.

it's ridiculous that people are still voting these idiots into office.

san diego...the prosecutors refuse to prosecute "petty" theft. that defined as less than $900. the addicts shoplift up to $895 and just walk away. come back an hour later and do it again. this started before covid. the city council & mayor are wondering why all the small retail stores are closing.

maybe i really am confused. people keep voting for these criminals. yes criminals. they are activley aiding and abetting theft. yet idiots kepp voting them into office.

making excuses for them...what about the people who have built their businesses through hard work, hard tears, and hard sacrifices?

    ridiculous...
