Strong belt, and quality holster rig is the main important issue.
Agree with others about no SOB, just not easy to drive or present a defensive draw. I sit in car a lot, so a cross draw isn't too bad, a strong side is muscle memory easy. Seatbelts can be rough on draw also.
These Kydex rigs can be a good thing, but I still like leather. DeSantis, Galco, 1791, Hume, all decent and will carry my 5in 1911 without a sweat.
Get a decent mag case too. Its a system you know.
Good luck, just carry that 1911. It's a great tool in the toolbox.

I was skeptical myself, but I went ahead and got one as the BOGO. 2 holsters for 50 bucks...

I carry with that holster IWB now every day, all day. That fugly looking holster lives on whatever are my (Duluth) daily pants or shorts. I have it on right now. Been running the dumb end of a shovel a lot of the day, when not planting and watering the garden, when not feeding the neighbors chickens.

Where that "cheap" injection molded Bravo Concealment holster lives, when I don't have pants on...
