I loaded 400 rounds of .38 Special, night before last. 148 grain wad cutters over a medium load of Unique.

Loaded a handful of the hollow base wad cutters backwards. Heard that from an old timers, to make poor man's hollow point ammo. They were pretty spectacular on plastic bottles of water.

Last night I started prepping some .308 Win brass. Full length resized and de-primed 400 pieces. Stuck a case in my die so I had to work a little magic on that situation for about 20-30 minutes, after I pulled the rim off.

    Loaded up 100rds 5.56x45.
    75gr FMJBT 22.9gr 8208xbr.
Just checked the powder charge it was 229.2gr for 10 charges meaning 22.92gr avg. Still amazed at the accuracy of Lee's Auto Drum with 8208xbr.
Took me 26 minutes to load 100rds today. So I got a lot faster today.
These bullets are supposed to have been 75gr match bullets. But the tips were not formed. I'm expecting good accuracy from them.

    Edit: Added picture.

I just threw together a double hand full of castings for 185 grain 8mm's.
It was forty years ago this very summer that a fine fellow in Montrose, Colorado, Mr. Richard Hoch, put together a Model 1888 with one of his custom made 12" twist cast bullet only barrels and the bore rider nose pour mold to fit it. I've been neglectful the last couple of decades and it's high time to break out the .325 sizer.
Will let them age a couple of weeks and then put together some ammo.

I'm finally getting around to pulling the wooden bullets from 6.5x55 surplus to re-use the primed brass.
140gr Hornady FMJ w/ varget powder. IV8888 did a video years ago about it and i picked up the same surplus ammo and it sat there for a couple years.
Also, loading some 9mm on my progressive

I've had pretty good luck using my freezer in that situation. The coefficient of expansion/contraction for brass is 50% higher than steel, so sometimes 24 hrs in the freezer and an appropriately sized dowel rod will do the trick

Couldn't get a dowel rod inside the case, due to the design of the de-capping rod. Can't get the rod out without removing the de-capping pin and collet from the bottom side and some a-hole had stuck a case in the bottom.

If you have a compressor and a small orifice nozzle, take the cold-soaked die out of the freezer directly to the garage and pressurize it through the primer pit and see if that works. Wear eyepro

Just got done with another 100rds of 5.56x45. Checked to see how the auto drum is doing. Tested 10 charges came out to 228.88 of 8208xbr which is 22.88gr per rd my target is 22.9gr. It seriously let me down on range, plunking rds. ;)

So far I don't see why I can't produce match grade rds on the turret. If I the auto drum is going to be that accurate with 8208xbr why use a single stage?

Did that last month. All dang day. Worth it. Now that it's cooling off I can cast some. Need 50,000 or so to fill my coffee cans with bullets.

Got my 38/357 dies and a 158gr mold today. Stopped by Brian's and got some powder and some 125gr hardcast bullets to try. Both my cattleman revolvers shoot way high with factory ammo with the exception of the buffalo bore 180gr outdoorsman. I figure the weight played into that. I'm going to load trailboss titegroup and universal tonight to try.

I run a lot of TB through my Rugers. I think you are headed in the right direction. You need to reduce the time the bullet spends in the barrel; faster powder, or lighter bullet.

I loaded some 357s with a 125gr cast bullets and 5.0gr of trail boss. I hope to try them tomorrow. Surely it will shoot closer to poa than the hot factory stuff.
