SOLD Buyer was a member I had sold a SW revolver 2 yrs. ago.
Upon inspection he was quite pleased on its condition & didn't show any wear.
$850 price reduction & sweet buy at this price.
Smith & Wesson K-38 Target Masterpiece, Model 14-3 with rare 8 3/8" barrel.
This is quite the beauty & a fine example of why gun enthusiasts seek out these SW classics.
The bluing is deep: pics don't do it justice.
Comes with original box, but box shows its age.
1970 manufacture date.
The owner is a friend I met on INGO who asked me if I'd help him sell this classic.
He is a 75 yr. old collector, all-around gun enthusiast & shooter but has been trimming the safe.
This revolver was purchased from a retired police officer in Hobart Indiana, who owned it for 10 years.
The officer told him he'd shot 200 rds through, cleaned it, & was placed in the safe.
My friend purchased this classic from him in August 2018 b/c of nostalgic reasons of previous ownership in 1969.
He only put 50 rounds through it & put in the safe.
He told me at this point in life he's not keeping any guns that he is not actively shooting, & the 14-3 is just too nice to sit in the safe.
With owner's permission, I took the revolver to the range and put 36 rounds through it for a function/accuracy check.
Nice! Pics below of 11 rounds at 21' from this gently-used classic.
Specifications:
- adjustable rear sight for both windage and elevation
- target hammer and trigger are attractively color case hardened according to SW tradition, rather than blued, for a bit of subtle contrast
- top of the hammer spur is aggressively machine checkered, with the tip of the diamonds left sharp
- target hammer and trigger are wider than the stock parts.
- fine grooves on the face of the trigger
I live in Wannamaker which is NE of Greenwood, outside of E465.
Must have an IN license & LTCH.
