SOLD $400
Smith & Wesson 422 Target 22 single-action semiauto pistol.
Comes with a gun bag or a hard case: your choice.
I enjoy finding older guns that are a great value & was glad to pick up this gun last summer for range use.
I kept it longer than I intended b/c I found it was a pleasure to shoot.
I found it to be light, thin & accurate.
I'm trimming the safe so it is time to let this one go.
I have put about 300 rounds through, testing this gun with multiple ammo brands.
Smith & Wesson design comments:
A unique design feature of the 422 is the fact that the barrel is non-moving and fixed to the frame, residing in a low position in the frame just above the trigger guard.
The barrel came threaded from the factory, with a protective "barrel nut" fitted.
This made this pistol line perfect for use with a suppressor with an aftermarket adapter since the sights could still be utilized.
The low bore axis served to greatly reduce muzzle jump, and served to allow the fitting of a suppressor without losing the use of the factory sights.
Specs:
- Matte blue finish
- checkered walnut grips
- 4.5" barrel
- threaded barrel
- 7.5" overall Length
- 1.125" width
- 5.5" height
- 21.5-oz weight
- adjustable sights
- aluminum frame
- steel slide
- one S&W 10-round magazine
- produced from 1987-1996
- frame mounted thumb safety
