I got out again on 10Nov22, a warm, sunny but windy day & the gusts were making me wobble but I managed to make sight adjustments & got the group on the bullseye. I think it likes the MILI 2¾", 1 oz. rifled slugs. Next trip out, I'll see how they group @ 50 yds. Those MILI slugs are wadcutters. View attachment 236062

I got out again on 23Nov22. It was a beautiful, sunny 53° but the wind was stiff with plenty of gusts so I'm reasonably satisfied with that group. It's "minute of big critter". I intend to get out on a calmer day & try it again. I think the group will tighten some if the wind isn't battering me around.

According to the gov't goons, this ain't a shotgun but I'll post it here anyway. Yesterday, 4Feb23, on my way home from Churubusco, Whitley County, Indiana, I drove through Ft. Wayne, Allen County, Indiana & made the mistake of stopping at ZX Gun. They had a selection of Mossberg Shockwaves® hanging on the rack &, of course, I fondled one & it followed me home. It will hold 6 + 1 of my NobelSportItalia 2¼", 6 pellet, 00 buckshot & cycle them reliably. It's easy to maneuver through the house & getting in & out of a vehicle in a hurry. It would be quite useful in repelling boarders & I hope & pray I never have to use it that way. Quite some time ago, I watched a YouTube video or a very ethical hunter up in Alberta who successfully hunted deer with a Shockwave. 1675638258282.png

I have a 12 gauge Shockwave I really enjoy. I put the Defender Tactical Mini shell adapter in mine. I can shoot the min shells all the way up to 3" mags in the same tube. Makes for a very versatile little shotgun.

I will do a thread on these once they are completely done but I had these Maverick 88's done in celebration of my grandson Maverick Wayne (name came from the 88). I still plan on putting wood stocks on them and have 2022 silver eagles sunk into the stocks.

    I love things in pairs......

Any way, both of these Remington 870's were pressed into law enforcement service, the black 870 is a police magnum (I carried it since new) the second is a wingmaster that had been in service since the early 80's.

Found a special field 870 12 g at Orleans this weekend. Figured it would make a nice mate to my 20g special field 1100. I really like to look of the English stock and the 21” barrel. This one is from 1984 in the full choke variety.

Yesterday, 28Feb23, FedEx made a delivery. My Mossberg Shockwave will hold 8 + 1. I installed an OpSol adapter & it shucked all 8 of them through the action with nary a hitch nor a bobble. The No. 4 buckshot will be adequate for inside the house. I don't live in a palatial mansion so any shots taken will be at conversational range. I've got a Crimson Trace Laser Saddle to mount on it &, once it's adjusted to the center of pattern, I'll just hope & pray I never need it for its intended purpose. 1677697171134.png 1677697139520.png

a recent thread inspired me to share a couple lousy shots of this ‘56 Model 97 (replica trench). I’m not much for militaria but couldn’t pass up the chance to buy such a clean example. I haven’t even cleaned or shot it yet, just admired and worked the action dozens of times lol

The only “Sporting” shotgun I have left is a Remington 1100 Light 20. Really nice shotgun. Wish I could find a shorter (21”?) barrel for it reasonably. Sold the 1100 12ga.
