    Could be anywhere
88% of bridges/overpasses in Indiana rated as 'Structurally Deficient' with over 50% rated as 'Imminent Failure', I'd say some infrastructure work *might* be needed, if you don't want to die trying to get anywhere...

I'm on good, clean limestone filtered well water, so I don't watch the water quality reports much, but last time it made the news around 60% of water utilities were well below clean water standards...

You either have a water filter, OR, you ARE the water filter...

I forgot, the highway system, sewage systems, water systems, power grid are all COMMUNISM to a bunch of far right wingers...
Basically since they don't/won't acknowledge societies MUST have social contracts (socialism) to survive.

The lack of education is astounding in a country where you have the opportunity for 13 years of education.
    Meh,

Infrastructure has been a responsibility of government since Rome built the Apia Way. What the current communists are calling infrastructure isn't.

Eisenhower did infrastructure, Bidet is doing wealth redistribution and destruction of America spending.

I believe everyone understands that the government needs to take care of infrastructure … That being said however, more of these projects need to be returned to the states to manage (not that the state will manage them much better ), and stop allowing the Fed to take a huge cut to "manage" these projects. But, the taxes ( gasoline, etc. ) the government collects for "infrastructure" should be used on roads, bridges, sewer and water systems. These funds shouldn't DIVERTED to be spent on museums and other pork projects.

Does the Fed take in more than it spends on any one thing? They run such a huge deficit it is hard to say anything gets spent on something it was not intended for.

Plus the way the Fed works is all money taken goes into the general fund.

And that is why I promote this: https://www.indianagunowners.com/th...into-our-own-hands.510273/page-2#post-8830323

Allowing the federal government more than one method to obtain revenue from individual citizens allows true costs to be hidden. Allowing the federal government to use others to obtain that revenue on behalf of individual citizens further obfuscates the cost. No service the federal government provides, should cost any United States citizen or resident a penny. Each citizen and resident has already paid for it via their taxes and we all benefit.

I maintain the simple root cause analysis of our budgetary woes, points to the ability of the federal government to hide how much revenue it steals from the citizens and residents, and how well it is able to hide the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of its actions. Radically reduce the ability to do both of those, and you will see a rise in accountability.

Sadly, I doubt he'll be contested in the primary.
Well, if not, it won't be for lack of this citizens effort. I've written a half dozen emails and physical letters to the national and state Republican parties demanding RINOs be primaried and calling out Young by name and what he has voted Yea on.

Young is like Buttijuice. He did a tour in the Marines (Intel) to give him some cred then became a career politician; the only difference is he ran as a republican instead of a gay commie...but really no difference.

    Partisan = patriot
    Bi-partisan = traitor
I just realized the difference between patriot and traitor is PR.

Today. 10 days after I wrote Senator Young he finally responded.

My Position on the Infrastructure Bill

For the last several months, I’ve been working diligently with my colleagues toward a bipartisan infrastructure bill to provide crucial funding for our crumbling roads and bridges and to make targeted investments that yield positive long-term results in areas like broadband, ports, and airports.
As I’ve said many times, while I’m eager for a bill that makes these investments, I’m also committed to doing so in a fiscally responsible way. Having reviewed the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) estimated fiscal impact of this legislation as currently constructed, and frankly still not being comfortable with a number of the Democratic priorities contained in this version, I will vote ‘no.’
As many of you know, I have concerns with the way CBO scores legislation and, even in this case, I don’t agree exactly with their scoring analysis. Nonetheless, I’m not yet comfortable with the current pay-fors in this legislation nor am I comfortable with Speaker Pelosi’s continued insistence on tying passage of this bill to the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reckless tax-and-spend budget proposal. Whether it is infrastructure or the Democrats’ reckless budget, we can’t afford to continue to grow the national debt at this pace, particularly as our economy recovers from the pandemic.
Once this legislation passes the Senate, it will move next to the House of Representatives, where changes are all but certain. I intend to do what Hoosiers expect me to do, which is to continue working with my colleagues to improve this bill in hopes that the final product will be one I can support, because I sincerely believe we must address our nation’s infrastructure needs.

My guess is the infrastructure bill has almost nothing to do with infrastructure....2700 pages and I've heard some outrageous crap thats in it. For what its worth I emailed traitor Young.....which ain't worth much. Pretty much.....we are all screwed I'm afraid. You vote R and still get D's. Maybe if a viable 3rd party rises I'll vote again.

The $1 trillion infrastructure bill that the Senate approved in a bipartisan fashion on Tuesday morning includes a provision to redefine "broadband" internet in a way that could leave many American households with seemingly inadequate online access. What is more, the bill relies on those same dubious new definitions to direct billions of dollars in new government spending.

Tucked inside the 2,700-plus page bill is a new set of definitions for upload and download speeds that federal regulators will use to determine which parts of the country are "underserved" by broadband internet. In turn, those updated definitions will guide the distribution of $42 billion in federal grants that the bill authorizes for "deploying broadband, closing the digital divide, and enhancing economic growth and job creation."

    From the article:
"Instead, the new definitions in the infrastructure bill will encourage subsidies to flow towards companies that promise to get already-connected Americans even faster connections—at speeds they aren't demanding and probably won't use—rather than extending access to those who still lack it."

And I'm sure those companies will pass along the savings (from the subsidies) to the consumer... right? Right???

So in true .gov fashion, we'll be taxed more to give money to companies which will charge us more for services we don't need. Sounds about right.

It would have been nice if he had known what was in the bill before voting for it!!!!!!!!
Young didn't vote for it, but he didn't have to considering 19 other republicans gave him cover to vote no.
